Annual Awards of Excellence Nominations

Every year at the Annual Spring Conference, WAAODA presents the awards described below in recognition of outstanding work and volunteer activity in the AODA field. If you know of anyone who is deserving of any of the following awards, and if you would like to nominate that person, then please write a short summary of the person's achievements and send it to:

The Hugh Wallace Award for Outstanding Citizen
The dedication of longtime WAAODA Board Member Hugh Wallace to the AODA field made a lasting impression on AODA programs, services and policies throughout the state of Wisconsin. This award in his name goes to the citizen who has shown outstanding dedication to furthering AODA prevention, treatment or recovery efforts within the past year.

Outstanding Professional
This award goes to the professional who has demonstrated a significant contribution in bridging the corrections, mental health and AODA fields.

Outstanding Program
This award is presented to the prevention or treatment program that has had a significantly positive impact on its clients and/or community, demonstrated by outcome-oriented services.

Outstanding Volunteer
This award is presented to the volunteer whose contributions of both time and talent to an organization have made a difference in his or her community.

President's Award
This award is chosen by the President of the WAAODA Board of Directors.

Advocacy Award
This is a new award presented to a group or individual leading the struggle for social and legislative change supporting AODA prevention, treatment and recovery in Wisconsin.
