Successful treatment and recovery of persons with substance use problems depends upon high quality education and training of addiction counselors and other AODA professionals. With professional treatment, rates of recovery from AODA are comparable to other chronic diseases, such as diabetes and asthma.
Through its Annual Spring Conference, Minority AODA Program Trainings and other conferences and workshops, WAAODA provides high quality, comprehensive, culturally sensitive and culturally competent education and training programs. Many programs are eligible for continuing education credits, with workshops and other trainings that meet continuing professional development requirements of various certifying agencies.
